2014 SURCOD logo
In 2010, SURCOD became a legal entity in Malawi. Four years later, many things have been accomplished and our image needs to be polished. This is why we decided to adopt a new logo which would represent better what we have become today and would indicate our intentions. Indeed, starting as a very local organisation, we have national ambitions that are made clear with the top part of the logo which was inspired by the Malawian flag. The font is the one we have chosen to represent us in our official documents and reports: serious, but also modern and original. The green and orange are also omnipresent at SURCOD. Green is the colour of growth; it can also represent self-reliance. Two aspects of development that we struggle for. The orange defines our optimism and determination. Naturally it also refers to the Malawian heat.
Our purpose was to have a modern, serious, more international and more accessible logo which would correspond to our aspirations for many years to come. For the sake of comparison, you can see our old logo below. And don't be afraid to tell us what you think about either the new or the old logo. We believe that this logo will contribute to improving SURCOD's image and we are very thankful to Paulina Hoffmann, a design student from Germany, for designing it.
